A cup of coffee not just jolts the sleep, but also helps to avert the risk of breast cancer. A recent study has claimed that coffee can prove to be an effective tool in shoving off the risk of antiestrogen-resistant estrogen-receptor
(ER)-negative breast cancer.
For the study, involving sample of women with and without cancer, the team of researchers probed the results on the parameter of coffee intake and found that coffee drinkers were in safer zone as compared to non-coffee drinkers. Acknowledging the impact of other factors, including age at menopause, exercise, weight, education and family history, the team asserted the positive result of coffee on ERnegative cancer.
If statistics is to be believed, 100 women have lost their life in 2010 in Canada. With the spurt in number of diseased cases, this study seems to be a ray of hope for the sufferers.
However, another old German study has dug the association between coffee and risk of breast cancer, but failed to produce any substantial evidence supporting the underlying theory.
Moreover, the team has not been able to pin down the actual reason behind the tangible result pertaining to intake of coffee, though it's of the view that it might have some connection with the type of coffee bean used or preparation of the coffee.
