Japanese electronics giant Sony, which shutdown its PlayStation Network and music service Qriocity following a sophisticated hack, on Wednesday said that hackers launched no new attack against PlayStation.
Sony's comments came in response to the Bloomberg report that said the official PlayStation website was down due to a new attack by hackers.
Sony said that it was a security measure installed by the company that brought one of the official PlayStation sites down in Japan.
Turning down the media reports about new hacker attack against the US PlayStation. com site and blog, Sony spokesman Dan Race said, "We installed a new security measure that has temporarily made the sites inaccessible to select regions outside of the US."
Sony's PSN and Qriocity music service have been down since April 20, a day after the Japanese company discovered a massive data breach that left more than 100 million accounts vulnerable to personal data thefts.
The company recently confirmed that it users of PSN and Quricity would have to wait more to restart enjoying online services as it wanted additional testing of the system to ensure the security of the network.
