Mountain View, California-based Google has announced the expansion of its Chrome Web Store, which will now be available to all the users of the company's web browser in forty-one countries.
The Internet search firm also mentioned the total number of Chrome web browser at 160 million, which represents an impressive increase from last year's figure of 70 million.
The expansion of the Chrome Web Store, which boasts of as about 17 million apps installed to date, is expected to provide a boost to the number of users as well as app installations in the coming months.
The search firm is also providing developers with the ability to add in-app purchases to help them monetize their products. In-app purchases can now be added with literally a single line of code.
Google wants to keep the game simple by charging developers a five per cent flat fee instead of making them to pay monthly fees based on click through rate.
Rovio chief Peter Vesterbacka used Google I/O developer conference to play and demonstrate the highly acclaimed Angry Birds game in the Google Chrome browser.
The Finnish game development firm is using the Google Web Toolkit to create the Web-based app. Google's Chrome Web Store is offering the game in "beta" for free.
