As announced by the publisher of many popular video game titles, Capcom, it has been forced to delay the release of several of its eagerly awaited and anticipated games, an announcement which has disappointed gamers and analysts as the year comes to a close.
Among the delayed titles are Lost Planet 2, Super Street Fight IV, Monster Hunter Tri, and Dead Rising 2, most of which will now see the light of the day during Capcom's 2011 financial year which will run from from April 2010 to March 31 2011.
Bioshock 2 and God of War III, however, will still be released as scheduled in 2010, but the company has still said that some future adjustments could happen post the newyear.
Dar Void, which was originally scheduled to be released in October, was pushed back to January 19, and now, it has been delayed even further.
The company has blamed "rapid changes in the market conditions caused primarily by the 4th quarter introduction by competitors of a large number of new games" for the delay.
"Due to the delay in the launch of titles originally scheduled for this fiscal year, we may not introduce all of the titles that are planned for the next fiscal year. Consequently, we will have to reexamine the title lineup in the next fiscal year and afterward from the standpoint of achieving sustained growth", Capcom shared.
