Having a healthy sex life will soon be more affordable for men with erectile dysfunction living in New Zealand. Pfizer, the drug company that makes Viagra (sildenafil citrate) will release a generic version of Viagra in New Zealand called Avigra when Viagra’s patent for New Zealand expires in June.

“Because Viagra still remains patented throughout most of the world, by launching a second brand in a generic market it allows us to provide the same quality of medicine as Viagra at a more competitive price”, said France Benge of Pfizer New Zealand Limited.

The cost of Avigra will be around $8 per pill, which is close to half the cost of one tablet of Viagra. Because of the lower price, men who couldn’t afford Viagra before will now be able to experience happiness and satisfaction in bed.

The ingredients used in Avigra are the same ones used in Viagra, which have helped more than 37 million men in 120 different countries, regain their confidence and self-esteem through the ability to regain lasting erections.

The pills come in boxes of four or 12, depending on preference. Pfizer hopes to be a step ahead of their competition by being the first to release a generic version of one of their most popular drugs.
