Dominique Strauss-Kahn to Be Given Typical Prisoner Treatment Despite His High ProfileDominique Strauss-Kahn, International Monetary Fund Chief, was accused for many acts that he performed against the law; including the recent one where is was blamed to attempt rape of a hotel maid. The authorities had denied his bail and therefore he will remain in the jail until the next hearing, on Monday along with several other inmates.

The decision had forced him to stay behind the bars at Rikers Island, New York City's notorious jail complex covering around 413 acres, or roughly half the size of Central Park and is home to 14,000 prisoners.

The offender, Strauss-Kahn will be transported to Riker Island's West Facility, 1 out the 10 jails in the complex. The West Facility is a smallest jail among the entire complex and used to shelter prisoners with communicable diseases with a capacity to house around 30 inmates.

However, the high profile background had benefited the Strauss-Kahn and he is not supposed to contact with rest of the inmates although, he will be given the typical prisoner treatment and directed to have his meals in his cell with 1 hour exercise outdoor outing for each day and will be able to meet the visitors and “to walk in the corridors and areas adjacent to his cell from time to time during the day”, leaked the sources.
