A survey has revealed that women with breast cancer are at risk of dying of stroke. The survey was conducted by Healthy Women in collaboration with Stroke Association and the American College of Emergency Physicians.
It has come to light that 425,000 women suffer from stroke each year and only 27% of women have experienced primary strokes.
According to the survey, African-American women suffer a significantly higher number of strokes than Caucasian women, yet African-American women were less likely to correctly identify what causes a stroke compared to Caucasian women. It also brought into the focus that Stroke is a leading cause of death for Hispanic women but Hispanic women were significantly less aware of stroke symptoms than Caucasian women.
It is known that person who smokes and drinks and has family history of stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol is at the risk of suffering heart attacks. Women as compared to men have higher chances of having heart attack if they are seeking Hormone Replacement Therapy and birth control pills.
Women with heart attack can have symptoms like sudden face and limb pain, sudden hiccups, sudden nausea, sudden general weakness, sudden chest pain, sudden shortness of breath and sudden palpitations
