The net income of computer-maker, Dell increased for first quarter of the financial year ended on April 30, 2011. The company has revealed that its net income has increased as compared to the same quarter, last year. Dell’s large enterprise unit recorded 5% increase in the first quarter, globally.
Net income of the company rose to USD 945 million in first quarter from USD 341 million in the same period last year. Revenue of the company increased only 1% to USD 15.01 billion as compared to USD 14.87 billion in Q1, last year.
Revenue from the main growth markets increased 17% which represents 27% of total company revenue whereas revenue from small and medium business in India surged 22%. Revenue from the Asia-Pacific and Japan region increased 15% in the first quarter to USD 3 billion.
Dell said that the consumer revenues of the company reduced by 7% because of the weak demand of its products.
Market experts believe that the benefits of the company could last longer than the next few quarters.
Dell Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Michael Dell said, “Our substantial profit increase demonstrates that our strategy is working and our execution is improving”.
