There are speculations being voiced regarding who would be apt to take the place of Strauss Kahn, after the resignation. There are many who believe that the International Monetary fund should be headed by a European again.
They are of the view that only a European would be able to understand the complications of the economy of the Eurozone, and this would help in better solutions for the same. Straus-Kahn, the man who had to resign from his position, is actually in jail for the allegations of trying to rape a maid in a hotel. Naturally, he is in denial of his actions and is of the view that this has been plotted against him, and that he shall make a bail plea, even after one has been rejected.
There was a lot of international pressure on this man to resign from his post, when the allegations were made against him. He said in an interview with “infinite sadness", but wanted to "devote all my strength, all my time, and all my energy to proving my innocence".
Speculations are still on a high to find out what the truth behind the matter is, but there are other things to be heeded to as well, the replacement being thought, the first.
