This has been a great step which has been taken by the Southern Cross Healthcare Group to launch the national general practice network. Southern Cross Healthcare Group is a private healthcare provider and an insurer.
It has been reported that Southern Cross Primary Care has got 20% stake agreement of Silverdale Medical partnership of Rodney district. Southern Cross Healthcare Group is targeting another 10 more deals which will help them to settle a GP network to have better healthcare system in the country.
The healthcare company reported that once all these deals are accomplished then they would launch a Southern Cross GP brand.
"Our intention is to take an initial 20 per cent stake in partnerships with the owners of around 10 large and progressive practices", Southern Cross Healthcare Chief Executive Ian McPherson said in a statement.
The company claimed that as these professional relationships grow up then this network will become stronger and it will have a positive effect on the country’s healthcare. These will in-turn creates many opportunities and growth.
According to the company, a national GP network will help both the GPs and the SCPC to make use of the private healthcare providers and make the healthcare system more efficient.
