These days, numerous people are getting affected by multiple sclerosis. It is a disease in which the nervous system of an individual gets affected and it further influences the brain and spinal cord. With an aim to create much more awareness among the patients about this disorder, the neurological department of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has decided to organize a patient awareness and education program on Saturday. With the help of this program, they will be able to better convey the people about the existing and emerging treatment of multiple sclerosis and its management.
Actually, it is the world multiple sclerosis day on May 25 and therefore, as a part of its celebration, this event will be held.
To answer any sort of queries on the subject, available there will be the faculty members from the hospital's neurological department and many more experts from the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Delhi,.
In this regard, Dr Anshu Rohtagi, neurologist at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital said, “The disease is common in the western countries. We have seen an increase in number of MS cases in last few years. We see cases almost every day now.”
