Mark Zuckerberg has no plans to make smartphone or tablet

Mark Zuckerberg has no plans to make smartphone or tabletFacebook Co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that making a smartphone or tablet computer is not a priority for the company.

Response to a question in the question-&-answer session at the e-G8 conference in Paris, Zuckerberg said that there are already good smartphones and tablets on the market and hardware is not their business.

Speaking on the topic, he said, “That's not our business. We get software development and social dynamics. I don't think that we get hardware. So far, what we're focused on is just building really good experiences for these things."

At the conference, Zuckerberg also joined Google chief Eric Schmidt in warning governments not to over-regulate the Internet. He further said that it would not be wise for governments to control certain aspects of the Internet while letting other aspects remain openly available.

Mr. Schmidt added that governments should not create laws to regulate Internet before understanding the consequences.

Around a week ago, the Facebook chief said that governments should let children to create profiles on the social networking site for educational purposes. But at the e-G8 summit, he said those comments were taken out of context.

Facebook requires users to be at least 13 years of age, though millions of underage children lie to join the site.
