Reports have speculated that Apple Inc. is all set to unveil its long-awaited tablet computer this month, and the shipping is expected to start somewhere in March. These reports surfaced on Monday, and have managed to create much excitement.

The reports supposedly cite "people briefed by the company" and speculate that the color screen tablet is expected to be a complete multimedia gadget that will allow people to watch movies and sitcoms and TV programs as well, in addition to letting them play games, surf the internet and read e-books and newspapers.

The tablet is expected to be equipped with a 10 to 11 inch touchscreen, and rumor has it that Apple has booked a San Francisco venue for January 27 to hold a major media event, and that might be the day of the launch.

With the tablet, the company will be adding to its very popular line of iMacs and MacBooks.
