Germ Spread in Schools Need to be Addressed

Germ Spread in Schools Need to be AddressedAccording to reports, students across the country fight with the effects of cold and wet winter every year, as the school environment is known to be filled with germs.

Even cold and flu viruses are said to become very rampant if preventative measures are not taken. The schools have commenced healthy measures this winter, as they are using the Kleenex SneezeSafe programme.

The Kleenex SneezeSafe programme is said to teach the students on how to be hygienic and avoid spreading germ.

Nanette Miller, a health and nutrition teacher in Brookfield Primary School, Tauranga, which is one of the schools to have registered for the programme, has stated that she was excited about the programme, as cold and flu along with other germs can spread easily in the school.

Also, she stated that the programme would help in reinforcing the message to her students, as they were already quite good with their hygiene and most of them knew what to do regarding the maintenance of a healthy hygiene.

The SneezeSafe programme is accepted by the national health curriculum and its messages are supported by the Ministry of Health. It comes with resources for teachers, that will assist them in health-related lessons, and participating schools are said to receive a teaching kit which includes a sneeze machine, silly spray and glitter.
