Just a few days after Apple was granted the right to see Samsung’s upcoming products, the South Korean electronics giant retaliated by filing a motion for the right to have a glimpse of Apple’s next-generation iPhone and iPad.
Earlier in April, the Cupertino, California-based Apple dragged Samsung to court, accusing the Korean manufacturer of copying Apple's technology, UI and pioneering style.
Last Tuesday, a San Jose Federal Court judge ordered Samsung to provide Apple with prototypes of its upcoming devices within 30 days.
However, Apple's in-house legal team or engineering staff can not have access to Samsung’s upcoming products. According to the court ruling, only outside lawyer can see the products.
Samsung is required to show its Infuse 4G, 4G LTE Droid Charge, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1.
In response, Samsung requested to court to allow its lawyers to see the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 and the iPad 3, the products which are yet to be announced.
Both Apple and Samsung depend on each other for business. Samsung makes a number of key components for Apple’s devices. Fore instance, Apple designs A4 and A5 processors, while Samsung manufactures them.
