SanDisk Corp, a flash memory storage solutions provider, has announced that ASUS has decided to equip its new UX Series ultra-thin notebook with the U100 solid state drive, the successor to the popular SanDisk P4 modular SSD series.
SanDisk claims that the drive’s flexible, cost-effective SATA III performance and power-efficiency will allow the computer maker to deliver a powerful notebook that will have ultra-thin size and longer battery life.
Speaking on topic, SanDisk said, “SanDisk’s U100 drive allows our notebook to achieve the thin size, fast performance and long battery life needed to produce an enjoyable user experience.”
U100 drive comes in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities, and offers performance of up to 450MB per second sequential read and up to 340MB per second sequential write.
The ASUS UX Series notebooks are merely 0.3cm to 1.7cm in thickness and around 1.1kg in weight, but these notebooks offer outstanding performance with a SATA III SSD, Intel core CPU and innovative Instant-On technology.
SanDisk is a Silicon Valley-based S&P 500 and Fortune 500 firm, which pockets more than half of its revenue from sales outside the US.
