Sony Corp. has just announced that it plans to fully restore its PlayStation Network (PSN) services by this weekend across the world, except Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea.
Previously, Sony had aimed to fully restore the PSN service worldwide by 31st of May.
Schedule for restoring the PSN services in Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea, will separately be announce later.
Official release from the Japanese electronics giant states, "The company implemented considerable security enhancements to the network infrastructure, as well as conducted testing of the payment process and commerce functions."
Sony's PSN and Qriocity music services have already been resumed in some parts of North America, Australia, Europe and Middle East.
Sony's PSN along with Qriocity audio & video streaming service was down since April 20, a day after the company detected a very sophisticated hacking attack on the system.
According to the company, unknown hacker/s infiltrated three firewalls to get inside the PSN system and stole a considerable amount of personal data, including names, passwords, purchase history and credit card details. The hack affected as many as 100 million customers.
