Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft reportedly has plans to use the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) to demo a new Xbox LIVE subscription TV service, dubbed Xbox Live Diamond.
According to a Winrumors’ claims, sources familiar with Microsoft's plans about the potential service informed it that the software giant was finishing up negotiations with media companies and would unveil the new service next week at E3 event.
Frank Shaw, corporate vice president of Microsoft’s corporate communications, hinted that the company would turn up the heat on an entire new era of home entertainment.
Speaking on topic, Shaw added, "Next Monday at E3 in Los Angeles, the Xbox home entertainment pot will be boiling over during a 90-minute event.”
Microsoft’s potential subscription TV service will provide users with content from a number of media companies with whom the software firm has been negotiating.
Microsoft is already offering IPTV services in some countries such as Britain, where users can watch Sky TV through Xbox Live games console.
