Kyoto-based Nintendo, the world’s leading producer of handheld video-game players, has confirmed that it would to unveil the successor to its hugely popular Wii games console during its Tuesday press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).
Details about the Wii’s successor are scarce, but rumors are swirling that the upcoming hardware would include much-demanded support for high-definition visuals, touch-screen controller and a built-in camera.
Sources also claim that Nintendo’s new hardware will use 3D technology, and will be much more powerful and convincing than the rivals like Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony’s PlayStation console.
Thousands of gamers from around the globe are coming to Convention Center in Los Angeles to attend the E3, which brings a myriad of new games and hardware.
Much-awaited games, like Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Batman: Arkham City, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Sci-fi action game Mass Effect 3, will also be unveiled at the ongoing event.
Separately, Nintendo said hackers infiltrated a server at an affiliate of its US subsidiary. However, according to the company’s claim, no sensitive data was compromised during the attack.
