E3 brings broad array of games for KinectThe ongoing Electronic Entertainment Expo 3 (E3) in Los Angeles is unveiling a broad array of upcoming games for Microsoft’s Kinect motion-sensing device.

Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft on Monday announced a new "Star Wars" game for its Xbox 360 games console that reaps the advantages of Kinect's motion-sensing capabilities. Simply called Kinect Star Wars, the game will include a variety of modes and hit store shelves this winter.

Electronic Arts’ upcoming sports games, including its Madden football, Tiger Woods golf and FIFA soccer, will also be available for Kinect. Sci-fi title "Mass Effect 3," which is slated for March, will make use of Kinect’s voice-recognition technology to let players to alter the behavior of characters by simply uttering dialogues.

Microsoft also announced a new version of its Xbox Live online entertainment service for the Xbox 360 console would provide members with access to video from Google’s YoubTube service as well as a number of live television events.

Microsoft, which is facing cut-throat competition from games on Facebook and Apple’s iOS devices, is making efforts to expand the library of games for Kinect.

Microsoft has sold more than 10 million units of Kinect since it was launched in November.
