LulzSec denies arrest report

LulzSecLulzSec, the anonymous hacker group that recently claimed responsibility for infiltrating into systems of Sony, PBS and FBI partner organization InfraGard, has denied report that one of its members was arrested by FBI.

LulzSec’s comments emerged after an anonymous post that was submitted through a Hushmail account claimed that a hacker, New Yorker Robert Cavanaugh, "alias xyz, alias ev0, belonging to LulzSec was in FBI custody, and the remaining hackers of the group would soon be in custody.

But, LulzSec claimed that the reports about the arrest of one of its members were untrue, or at least not linked to the LulzSec.

In a posting on Pastebin. com, LulzSec said, "Also, 'ev0', who was allegedly arrested, was never a part of LulzSec or in fact the subcrew. We don't even know who he is.”

A few days back, LulzSec announced that it hacked into the website of Sony Pictures, SonyPictures. com, and accessed to personal information of more than 1,000,000 users.

Earlier, LulzSec hacked the security of US non-profit Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and posted a number of fake stories, including the one that claimed that dead rapper Tupac Shakur was alive and well in New Zealand.

The latest victim of LulzSec became a private-sector FBI affiliate, InfraGard, which lost emails, passwords and contact details of around 180 users to the hacker group.
