Blitz, a Warwickshire-based games developer that caters for the mass family market, revealed that it had penned an agreement to develop games for Nintendo’s newly announced Wii U games console.
Blitz declined to reveal anything about its future games for the Wii U, but said that it had already signed a deal with a publisher to develop a videogame for the Nintendo’s next-generation handheld.
The developer also said that it was near signing a contract with a publisher to make two more games for the Wii U.
Separately, France-based games publisher Ubisoft announced three titles for the Wii U, viz. Ghost Recon Online, which is an online game that will take advantage of the device’s constant online presence. Other titles, Killer Freaks from Outer Space and Assassins Creed, will also hit Wii U.
Nintendo’s Wii U, which was recently unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, has a 6.2-inch touchscreen that can be used to interact with a game on the television. The Wii U’s online presence makes it more social.
However, Nintendo’s Wii U handheld will not hit store shelves until 2012.
