Men’s Health Week Conducted in New ZealandA Men’s Health Week was organized, at Ngataringa Sports Complex, at Devonport, which focused on the international preventative health movement. Navy, Army, Air Force and New Zealand Police participated in the campaign, out of these teams Navy proved to be the finest in the physical challenges.

The events in the completion were teams carrying each other in a fireman’s hold, running and carrying 10K strength bags, a rowing machine relay, and running through thick mud. Navy was the winner, followed by Air Force and New Zealand Police. The movement comprised of dealing with all the aspects related to men’s health, like focusing on lifestyle, physical fitness, emotional and sexual well being.

As per Director of Medical (Army), Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Dunn, during the campaign various health related topics were discussed which created an effect on the defense workers like importance of regular work-out, restricted alcohol consumption and quit smoking, being cautious of weight and awareness related to various health disorders.

As part of Men’s Health Week, men could access to an online questionnaire which provided them with a snapshot of their health. The tool gave participants an idea of what they may need to get checked out with their GP.
