The robust performance shown by Land Rover’s Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport models has resulted in surging sales with the company reporting a high 93 per cent year-on-year in the final quarter of 2009.
Land Rover UK managing director, John Edwards, said, "2009 has been a very hard year for the motor industry – particularly in the premium segment. However, Land Rover made some tough decisions and restructured our business model to ensure that we were in a strong position to weather the storm”.
The new 2010 model range has ensured the latest, most efficient, and technologically advanced line-up Land Rover has ever had. The sales for Land Rover Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport specifically have improved by 115% and 116% respectively for the last quarter of 2009 compared to 2008, accounting to its huge demand in the UK market.
The new series 5.0-liter supercharged engine, complimented with the more economical yet powerful 3.6-liter TDV8 and spectacular driving dynamics, strengthen the Range Rover's position as the ultimate SUV. Also the Rover Discovery 4 has grabbed a number of global laurels since its launch in September 2009.
The company reported improvements in all its UK, US, China, Italy and Russia markets year on year for the last quarter have been recorded across the globe, with the US up 21% and Europe up 12%.
