Cupertino-based Apple on Monday provided its developer community with one more beta version of its upcoming Mac OS X 10.6.8.
The latest software, dubbed 10K537, is reportedly available as a 454MB delta update, or 1GB combo update, for download from Apple.
The Mac OS X 10.6.8 has no known issues, and the developer community has been asked to focus on the Mac App Store, AirPort, Networking, QuickTime, Graphics Drivers and VPN.
People familiar with the operating system says that the final release of Mac OS X 10.6.8 will fix numerous issues with Snow Leopard before the release of Lion. It will have enhanced support for new protocol IPv6 and VPN reliability.
The new update also addresses the MAC Defender malware scam, which recently hit thousands of Macs by alluring Mac users to install fake antivirus software. Earlier, Apple released Mac OS X 10.6.7 update to fix the issue.
Apple’s Lion operating system will go on sale next month via the Mac App Store. Existing Snow Leopard users will be able to make the upgrade at a cost of $29.99.
