Ginger and the Herb Feverfew May Relief Migraine PainA recent research has claimed that a homeopathic preparation of ginger and the herb feverfew may provide relief from migraine pain. The research was carried out by the Headache Care Centre in Springfield, Missouri, and was funded by the PuraMed Bioscience, which makes the feverfew/ginger treatment.

The researchers randomly assigned patients to take a homeopathic preparation of ginger and the herb feverfew and placebos. About 45 people took the homeopathic treatment and 15 took the placebo.

The results of the study revealed that about one-third of people who took feverfew and ginger were did not feel any pain after two hours as compared to only half of the people in the placebo group.

The Study Researchers, Dr. Roger Cady, from the Headache Care Centre in Springfield, Missouri, US, said that the result of the study were strongly positive as 63% of those who took the homeopathic preparation saw some pain relief, while only 39% were relived in the placebo group. The homeopathic preparation is known as LipiGesic and is available for $29.95 for several doses.

Figures reveal that 12% of American suffers from migraines and the disease cost the US some $20 billion annually in medical care.
