Animal Prevention Society Urging People to Not Dump Their Unwanted Pets

Animal Prevention Society Urging People to Not Dump Their Unwanted PetsThe Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is an organization that works for animal protection and struggles to prevent them against any incident of cruelty. However, till now, it is not engaged in the activities such as to take the custody of unwanted pets from owners, notified a member of non-governmental organization, Rashidah Maqbool.

While referring to an incident where a couple dumped five kittens at the Sabah Animal Medical Centre, recently, she said that it was a right action as the couple had not dumped or left kittens somewhere else in area with least survival chances. However, she marked the practice to drop unwanted pets at their centre as unfair.

“Imagine if the people send in unwanted 100 pets to SPCA KK to keep? I don’t know how they are going to come up with the money or to cope up with keeping all the animals”, explained Rashidah Maqbool. “I think the couple was just acting humanely by dropping them off somewhere where they may be able to find a home or to be put down painlessly”.

A veterinarian, who wanted to be behind the curtains, has warned that SPCA KK would have to be ready to accept more unwanted pets.
