Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to hit UK stores on August 4The much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will hit the UK store shelves on 4th of August this year, the Korean electronics giant confirmed.

The original Galaxy Tab 10.1 was first unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February this year, but the device was given a dramatic pre-release redesign to make it make more competitive.

Announcing the UK release date for the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Managing Director Simon Stanford, of Mobile, Samsung UK & Ireland said, “The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the latest example of Samsung’s ongoing innovation in this market and commitment to the Android platform.”

Like Apple’s iPad 2, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will come in three versions- 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models. But, the Samsung tablet has many striking features that can allow Korean manufacturer to snatch a considerable piece of the tablet market pie from Apple, which is currently dominant player in the market.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 features a 10.1-inch WXGA screen with a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels as compared with the iPad 2's 9.7-inch, 1024 by 768 resolution display.
