For the third consecutive month, Australian job advertisements managed to record a rise, as has been confirmed by ANZ's job ads index. The clear message is that the number of employed people will now continue to grow, which has managed to sound a delightful chime across the country,
Over the months of September, October and November in the past year, employment hiked by 99,500, as per the seasonally adjusted data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, and it is possible that the exceptionally strong growth would continue over the current year as well.
Released on Monday, ANZ figures have revealed that there was a rise of 11.6% in December in the number of job advertisements in newspapers and online, which has come after an 8.3% seasonally adjusted rise recorded in November.
As shared by ANZ Acting Chief Economist Warren Hogan, the fall that was seen in job advertisements is now way past the lows that were recorded in July 2009. "This is already translating into employment growth and helping to keep the unemployment rate relatively stable, despite accelerating population and labour force growth", he said.
Experts are now looking at 2010 with revived optimism.
