Activision blockbuster Call of Duty: Black Ops has leapfrogged its sister game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to grab the best-selling title ever in the UK, figures released by GfK ChartTrack revealed.
According to figures, cumulative UK sales of Call of Duty: Black Ops, from November to June 25th, stood at 3,722,411 – ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s cumulative UK sales of 3,702,410.
Call of Duty: Black Ops has not only emerged as the biggest game in the UK video games market history, but also as the best selling entertainment of any kind last year, when it beat both Avatar on DVD/Blu-ray as well as Take That’s new album.
Speaking on the topic, Activision UK’s Managing Director Andrew Brown said, “This is an outstanding achievement for the development team at Treyarch and the amazing Call of Duty community.”
Call of Duty: Black Ops has received a new DLC pack. The Call of Duty: Black Ops Annihilation DLC pack offers four new multiplayer maps and a miraculous Zombies experience.
Annihilation, which is third DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops, is available worldwide on Xbox Live.
