Google launches new tool to create mobile sitesWith an intention to provide small & medium-sized businesses with an easy tool to create mobile-friendly websites, Google has launched a new service, called Google Sites Mobile Landing Page.

Google Sites Mobile Landing Page, which was unveiled at the company’s Think Mobile Conference in London, offers templates small & medium-sized businesses to create and launch mobile websites.

The new service allows users to pick pre-formatted templates for things such as landing pages, eCommerce, social interaction and lead generation.

Google’s new service is expected to prove very beneficial for small businesses which might not have enough resources to get a major mobile presence, but still desire to provide mobile users with important contact information, directions and all that.

Speaking on the need of such tool for small businesses, Google said, “They are losing out to people who do have mobile-optimised websites. Only 17% of the businesses that we work with today have a mobile-optimised website.”

The new tool was unveiled following a research that revealed that 28 per cent of mobile users in the UK use their mobiles to make a purchase.
