Recently, a lot of trouble was faced by a family when their daughter could not avail a liver transplant because the deadline of the transport was missed due to delays in aircraft. The girl is 14-years-old and her father is of the view that he wants to make sure something like this never happens again.
"We have been waiting for this call from last August and to think that when we got it we couldn't get out of the bloody country", her father Joe said.
There is still uncertainty regarding why something like this happened but there needs to be proper investigation done to find out what the matter really was. The name of the girl is Meadhbh McGivern and she missed her deadline for the surgery after there was undue delay in the aircraft.
It was actually because there was no aircraft available at that crucial time, as revealed by the Department of Transport. The Coast Guard had said there was no aircraft available and this is what caused the delay and the girl could not get a liver transplant. The girl could not be transported to London on time as there were a number of confusions lined up at the moment, and this made her miss the rare opportunity of the transplant.
