A supposedly leaked AMD roadmap claims that AMD has big plans for the tablet segment. According to a Turkish tech site, called Donanim Haber, the American chip maker’s roadmap for 2012 provides details of a follow up to the existing Z-Series Fusion APU, dubbed Desna.
The leaked marketing slides of the company shows the forthcoming Fusion APUs from the upcoming 'Desna' revision of the existing Brazos platform through to a new-fangled Brazos-T processors that are due in 2012.
As per the marketing slides, the "Brazos-T" platform will feature a system-on-chip, dubbed “Hondo,” which will be rolled out in time for Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system.
Hondo will consume merely 2 Watts of power while offering DirectX 11 graphics and two 'Bobcat' x86 processor cores. As it consumes little power, users will not have to worry about heat issues.
The slides also claim that the Brazos-T platform-based chips would be made available to partners for sampling by the end of 2011.
