ASB Economist Forecasts House Price Inflation in Coming Months

ASB Economist Forecasts House Price Inflation in Coming Months Renowned Real estate firm, Barfoot and Thompson's, has claimed to have lowest number of properties in its books, 5067, since August 2007.

The Managing Director of Barfoot & Thompson, Peter Thompson, has expressed disappointment about limited market choices where a majority of owners tend to put off decisions about their property until they have a better feel for where the economy was heading.

"There is a high level of demand for properties, but a lack of confidence in the future of the economy is creating a natural brake on the willingness of owners and buyers to commit to moving on with their housing plans”, explained Peter Thompson in a statement. "When available listings are this low, the market is normally running hot with prices and sales volumes on the rise, but that is not the current situation”.

In addition, he notified that the company has credited to make sales of 873 properties in June, around 31.3% higher as compared to previous year figures. However, the figure rolled down 18% in May. Mr. Thompson claimed that sales are rising but uncertain future of economy is playing a role to fluctuate the figures.

Meanwhile, ASB Economist, Jane Turner has notified restricted housing in Auckland and forecasted house price inflation pressures in coming months.
