Japanese electronics giant Toshiba took wraps off its new Qosmio F75D glasses-free 3D laptop in London.
The new laptop’s selling point is its 3D capability. The 3D screen of the Qosmio F75D sends two faintly different images to each of the viewer's eyes to generate the 3D effect. The webcam of the 3D device tracks the viewer’s eyes as they move around the screen to keep the 3D effect visible.
In addition, the laptop has conversion technology that can convert ordinary 2D DVD content into 3D.
The Qosmio F75D comes equipped with a 15.6-inch display with a resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels, an Intel Core i7 2.0GHz processor, an NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics card, 6GB of RAM, a multi-card reader, USB 3.0 port, a trio of USB 2.0 ports, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Harman Kardon stereo speakers promises superior sound, while a Blu-ray disc drive can accept the new Blu-ray XL format so that it can write discs up to 128GB. Its hard drive of 640GB provides abundant storage space.
The Toshiba Qosmio F750 3D will will hit the UK store shelves sometimes in August, with a price tag of around £1,300.
