Renowned carmaker Tata’s Land Rover has announced two new variants of Land Rover Discovery 4, viz. the 2012 Discovery 4 and the Range Rover Sport.
Both the 2012 Discovery 4 as well as the Range Rover Sport will come equipped with a 3.0-litre diesel engine with 256 bhp and 500 Nm assisted by an fully new 8-speed transmission.
The upcoming vehicles’ new, more powerful engines not only burn the minimum volumes of fossil fuels, but also burn those fuels more competently to reduce emissions. CO2 emissions in the 2012 Discovery 4 have successfully been brought down to merely 230g per km.
Speaking on the topic, the company’s UK Managing Director Colin Green said, “Improved performance, lower CO2 emissions and enhanced design and equipment levels consolidate the Discovery 4? s position as the most capable and versatile all-purpose vehicle on and off the road today. The Discovery 4 is quite simply in a class of its own.”
The new model of the Range Rover Sport will also make sure that the SUV continue enjoying its position as the most fuel-efficient SUV in the segment.
Both the 2012 Discovery 4 and the Range Rover Sport will be introduced in the UK in October this year, with starting price tag of £37,995 and £48,795, respectively.
