Blackberry Bold Touch 9900 to hit UK in August

blackberryCanadian smartphone maker RIM is set to release its latest Blackberry Bold Touch 9900 handset in August in the UK, online retailer Play. com says.

According to Play’s claim, the Blackberry Bold Touch 9900 will become available on 12th of August, while online retailer Amazon has pegged the handset’s availability for 15th of September.

The Blackberry Bold Touch 9900, is the slimmest, sleekest as well as the fastest Blackberry phone on the market, is a follow up of the Blackberry Bold 9780.

The new handset runs on Blackberry 7 OS, and comes equipped with a QWERTY keyboard, an optical track-pad, a 1.2GHz single core processor, a 5MP camera with HD video recording, a 2.8-inch VGA capacitive touchscreen, 768MB of system memory and 8GB of onboard storage.

The list of other striking specs includes a microSD card slot, a 1230mAh, Wi-Fi, HSDPA and AGPS. In addition, the device supports Near Field Communication (NFC) technology that allows users to make payments for good and services via mobile phone.

Both, Play and Amazon, have priced the Blackberry Bold Touch 9900 at £519.99, lower by £30 than the suggested retail price of the handset.

Vodafone, O2 and Three will provide network to the Blackberry Bold Touch 9900 when it is available.
