The Droid Bionic, Motorola’s new smartphone that was first unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2011, is expected to be available this summer via network provider Verizon Wireless in the US.
The Motorola Droid Bionic, which is being seen as an alternative incarnation of the Motorola Atrix 4G, will run on Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and will come with famous Laptop Dock.
Originally, the handset was shown running on Android 2.2 Froyo operating system; but, the manufacturer later decided to upgrade the handset to Gingerbread.
The Laptop Dock will allow users to watch the phone’s content on a larger screen. However, the accessory will come with a separate price tag.
The upcoming device will come equipped with a 4.3-inch QHD display, NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, and an 8-megapixal rear-facing camera.
The Droid Bionic is being seen as a very stiff competitor to rival smartphones like that of the Samsung Galaxy S2 and LG Revolution.
