Canadian smarphone manufacturer RIM’s much-anticipated Blackberry Touch 9900 will finally land in the UK in August, according to online retailer Play.
Well-known online retailer Play. com claims that the Blackberry Bold Touch 9900 will be available starting August 12. Earlier, online retailer Amazon had pegged the smartphone’s release at the mid of September.
The Blackberry Bold Touch 9900, a successor to the Blackberry Bold 9780, is the Canadian manufacturer’s sleekest, slimmest and fastest smartphone so far.
Running on the company’s Blackberry 7 operating system, the upcoming device features a QWERTY keyboard, a 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen display with a resolution of 640 by 480 pixels, an optical track-pad, a 1.2GHz single core processor, 768MB of system memory and 8GB of onboard storage and a 5-megapixel camera with HD video recording.
The handset also comes equipped with a microSD card slot, a 1230mAh battery, Wi-Fi, HSDPA and AGPS. Users will also be able to enjoy OpenGL 3D gaming and faster Internet browsing. In addition, the device will support Near Field Communication (NFC) technology that will allow users to pay for good and services via the handset.
The Blackberry Bold Touch 9900, which will get network coverage from O2, Vodafone and 3UK, will be available for £519.99 through Play and Amazon.
