US carmaker Ford launched its all-new Sedan Fiesta in India. The new version of the Sedan Fiesta is the first of Ford’s eight new global vehicles that the manufacturer plans to roll out in India by the year of 2015.
The new Sedan Fiesta has been made available in four premium trims, across eight variants, viz. Trend, Style, Titanium and Titanium Plus with petrol as well as diesel powertrain options in manual transmission.
Ford’s premium sedan comes equipped with the company’s new 1.5-litre powertrains, viz. 1.5 L Ti-VCT and 1.5 L Duratorq TDCi engines, which are manufactured at the company's Maraimalai Nagar, Tamil Nadu-based engine plant.
The 1.5 L Ti-VCT Style has been priced at Rs. 8.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), while the top model, the 1.5 L Duratorq TDCi Titanium Plus, costs Rs. 10.51 lakh.
Speaking on the launch of the all-new Sedan Fiesta, Ford India President & Managing Director Michael Boneham said, “This month we will be accessing the response. I think the way we have priced the Fiesta, it will be very attractive to our customers.”
Ford India enjoyed a jump of more than 50 per cent in sales in the January to June period, with more than 60,000 units sold as compared to 39,465 units in the corresponding period of last year.
