There is no doubt that dog is a best friend of a man. The love, devotion he could show, nobody can, and this has been proved time and again. This time also, a dog or rather faithful friend of a man, would be better to use, has become a source of smile for a blind man.
Alan Downie got blind 14 years ago and was dependent on his wife, Declan to do most of his work. But his life took a U-turn seven years back, when Guide Dogs Victoria gifted him a well trained dog. This new member of their family has given the lost freedom to Mr. Downie.
Guide Dogs Victoria persuades people to organize fund raising functions so they could train dogs, which could work with people having some disability like autism, Down Syndrome.
In training centers, dogs are taught to distract special children to get them back from their thoughts. Even when child is feeling a meltdown, a dog could give him assurance of being there, which is known as deep pressure. Even dogs are trained to handle the child when they are out for walk.
Dogs' trainer Julie Hancox, Owner of Assistance Dogs New Zealand told that there have been cases when assistance dogs easily get to know about kid's ill health and let the parents of the kid to know about it.
