Toddlers as young as a mere 6 months will be vaccinated against H1N1, and other dangerous infections looming about, at special clinics that have been set up all across to help protect young children against these deadly diseases.
Christened the Rainbow Clinics, these facilities are being set up for children up-to the age of 5, and will be administering shot to them which would protect them against seasonal infection, in addition to MMR, meningitis and other potentially serious diseases and infections. At the clinics parents will also be able to request for any routine vaccine that their children might have missed.
All vaccines for infants and children will be available at the Rainbow Clinics.
"The seasonal flu vaccines already available don't protect against swine flu, so this new flu vaccine has been developed and we want children to take it up", said Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board medical director, Dr Bruce Ferguson.
The clinics will be held starting later this month and well into February, and parent who want to visit can contact their physicians to make an appointment.
On January 27 and February 3, the Rainbow Clinics will be set up in Swansea, and will reach Neath Port Talbot on January 19 and 26.
