Official announcements have confirmed that as many as four additional e-health projects would now be backed by Federal Government's $60 Million Digital Regions drive.
Yesterday, Communications Minister Stephen Conroy said that an additional sum of $6.5 Million has been allocated to aid clinical outreach and ensure that tele-health programs run smoothly.
These 4 new projects will be joining seven others which were announced in December and aspired to improvement health, education and emergency services across rural and remote areas and communities of the country.
Under the newly announced funds, $2.5 Million have been awarded to the South Australian Digital Telehealth Network to help it improve on the distance consultation and triage service, and $1.3 Million have been given to NSW's Justice Health.
Also, to help the facility improve upon its medical record and administration services across 190 of its locations, the NSW Ambulance Service received $1.8 Million.
The fourth program to receive a grant is the TAFE NSW which received $880,000 for HEALNet.
