Apple has announced that the white MacBook laptop will still be available for purchase, albeit only schools.
On Thursday, the Cupertino-based gadget maker announced its decision to discontinue its popular medium priced white Macbook laptop all over the world, as the sales of the machine were struggling to match those of other Apple laptops, like the MacBook Air.
However, the company confirmed that the white version will still be sold to ‘educational institutions’.
The internal storage or SSD of the white MacBook laptop can be extended to 256GB through a number of customizable options.
Educational institution can now buy the white MacBook laptop for $899, $100 cheaper than what it used to cost when it was available for all.
Meanwhile, Apple launched the new versions of its Macs. The new versions of MacBook Air and the MacMini come equipped with faster Intel Core i5 and Core i7 dual-core processors. The new machines feature Thunderbolt ports that support FireWire, Gigabyte Ethernet and the latest version of operating system called Mac OS X Lion.
