The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) has appointed Elaine Campbell as the Head of compliance monitoring. The role to be played by him is unique in nature which includes monitoring a range of groups including fund managers, futures dealers and registered markets.
Previously, Campbell has worked as Head of market supervision at NZX and as executive counsel for the markets disciplinary tribunal. Besides Campbell, there are two new entries. It has come to light that Liam Mason and Sue Brown will soon be joining FMA as Head of legal and board secretary and Head of primary regulatory operations respectively.
Moreover, more appointments will be heard in the coming next weeks, said FMA chief executive Sean Hughes. The three new entries, is said to be, playing a greater role in the strategic leadership team.
All the three appointees have considerable experience and background which will prove fruitful for FMA. It has been informed that after joining the post of Head of legal and board secretary, Mr. Mason will play a key role of advisory to the Select Committee on the new FMA legislation.
However, Ms. Brown will be looking after the development of FMA's regulatory strategies and activities relating to the primary and retail financial markets, including financial advisers.
