According to reports, the pet product industry is a multi-billion industry globally and makes majority of its money selling items for animal companions of individuals.
Also, it is said to be expensive, though pet-lovers, spare no expense when it comes to caring for their pets, hence the idea pet care cost cut, does not really get much attention from pet-lovers.
However, a ‘typical’ dog is said to cost around €1,000 a year in terms of care, with the average cat up to half the amount, and some owners have been reported to be avoiding basic care of their animals currently.
The Dublin Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals, Operations Manager Orla Aungier stated: "Over the last number of years the Dublin SPCA rescue and roaming centre has seen an increase in the number of owners who are contacting our centre looking for assistance about caring for their pets".
Moreover, people are generally advised to take their pet to the vet, once a year at least, as yearly veterinary exams, that involves an intense check-up of your pet's gums, teeth, heart, lungs and internal organs, can detect health problems early, as well as save you lots of time and money.
