Social networking addicts will soon be able to have their hands on a new Facebook-centric handset, called the Vodafone 555 Blue.
Scheduled to be released in August with a possible price tag of around 60 pounds, the Vodafone 555 Blue will target teenagers and other social networking addicts, with a promise to take social-networking experience to a new level.
Manufactured by Alcatel Lucent, the upcoming handset will run on a proprietary OS, and feature a 2.4-inch display, a QWERTY keyboard and an ‘F’ button to let users to share the world’s most popular social networking site.
It will also feature automatic synchronisation between the address book and friends Facebook profiles, and users will be able to see photos of their friends in the mobile's address book. In addition, users will see SMS and Facebook messages within the same inbox.
The handset’s 2MP rear-facing camera will allow users to upload photos to Facebook, and email or send them via Bluetooth at the click of a button.
But, the users of the Vodafone 555 Blue will have to rely on sluggish EDGE technology as the handset will not offer Wi-Fi or 3G.
