With a sincere intention to allow people to have instant information on transport routes in London, Google has updated its Maps service to cover London public transport.
The new service will allow users to see all the public transport connections, including routes for trams, tubes, buses and the Docklands Light Railway, in London, one of the Europe’s largest metropolitan areas.
It will also include arrival and departure times for individual trams buses and other means of transport, allowing passengers to get rid of the problem of hanging around at stations.
Transport for London (TfL) serves as many as 1 million passengers every year across more than 250 Underground stations and 18,000 bus stops.
Users of the Android-based device can also receive public transport directions with the help of Transit Navigation, which is available in Beta in Google Maps. Users of Transit Navigation can get alerts when it is time to get off the bus or train at your destination.
The new service will be of great help to millions of new visitors who will hit London next year for the Olympic Games.
