Germany-based game developer Crytek has reportedly cancelled a third person shooter (FPS) that was being expected to be release later this year, but the developer is also preparing to launch a new FPS game.
The information came from Linkedin profiles of gameplay & animation programmer David Ramos, technical artist Dimitry Kachkovski of Crytek.
According to the resume of Dimitry Kachkovski, who previously worked on Crysis, Crysis Warhead and Crysis 2, the name of the cancelled project was Redemption.
Redemption was reportedly being developed for Microsoft’s Xbox 360, Sony’s PlayStation 3 and PC.
However, Crytek has so far not made any confirmation on reports about the cancellation of the project.
Crytek’s Crysis 2, which was launched in March this year, has received highly positive reviews. The game’s graphical attributes have been praised highly.
The company’s next game in the Far Cry series, called Far Cry 3, will run on the Dunia engine, and is scheduled to be released in March 2012.
