It has been reported that soon a ban will be imposed over the sales and purchase of Kronic. The recommendation of banning the drug came after many people were hospitalized because of the use of Kronic last month.
It has emerged that the trading of Kronic will be banned for a period of 12 months until the government brings changes in the Misuse of Drugs Amendment Bill. The ban will come into force by next week.
Besides imposing a ban over the sale and purchase of Kronic, the government will also be asking the manufacturers to prove that their synthetic cannabis is safe for the use. While commenting upon the plans of the government, Associate Health Minister Peter Dunne said, “The bottom line is that these products are generally untested and we do not know the long-term effects of their use and we are not about to just let it all happen and pick up damaged young people at the end”.
Although the government is doing their best in controlling the trade of Kronic, Matt Bowden of Stargate Company has showed his doubts over the benefits of ban. He is of the view that a Kronic addict can go to any extent for getting the drug. The government has not yet commented upon it and it is supposed that during a press conference the government might address the concerns of Matt Bowden.
